Philippe Brocart, which owns and operates Maison&Objet explained the selection. “For this inaugural session of Maison&Objet Americas, our hope was to name a Designer of the Year from South America in order to position our event as a true market platform for all of the Americas. As an international fair, we also sought someone with global recognition and with a multinational body of work, which is clearly the case for Zanini de Zanine who has collaborated with several iconic European brands. His diversity of product, from big brands to his studio dedicated to creating gallery and auction house pieces, was also a factor. As the next generation of designers become increasingly more versatile and multidisciplinary, Zanini represents the exemplary balance between mass production and limited edition craftsmanship.”
As the first ambassador for Maison&Objet Americas Zanini de Zanine will be giving a keynote address at the fair, to be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center May 12-15, 2015.
Zanini de Zanine is the chosen one as her work represents the balance of artistry and commercial design and that’s exactly what Maison&Objet Americas is looking for.
