Maarten Baas and Lensvelt worked together for the Salone del Mobile 2017 to create the installation “MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION, PLEASE?”
At the installation, there was Maarten Baas 101 Chair and the Maarten Baas Table presented during the Salone del Mobile in Milan. This installation and the chair came to be thanks to the intervention of Anne van der Zwaag.
Lensvelt is a non design amsterdam based furniture label established in 1962. Lensvelt provides architects and interior designers the tools to make better interiors contributing to a new world: greener, better and more social.
Lensvelt has shown over the years as a committed label, which showed distinct and often award winning presentations during the Salone del Mobile in Milan. Lensvelt hit a bridge between the commercial world and the most innovative artists As Studio Job, Marcel Wanders, Bertjan Pot, Richard Hutten, Lernert & Sander, Atelier Van Lieshout, Maarten Van Severen and others.
Maarten Baas is a Dutch artist/designer. Baas is often described as a so-called author-designer, whose designs balance on the fine line between art and design. Baas is seen as one of the most influential Dutch designers of the early 21st century.
Maarten launches a colourful chair collection: they are all identical but at the same time they are all different. He catches the visitors’ attention with an intriguing scenography of megaphones, which earned him the Milan Design Award 2017 Best Concept for the set-up project’s effectiveness and theatricalism, an uncomplicated and fun enjoyment for everybody.
