PAD London happened from 14-18 October and Friedman Benda, a NY art gallery was exhibiting the great designs they represent. Andrea Branzi, Joris Laarman or Campana Brothers are some of the artists the gallery works with, so it mean exceptional design. The gallery is located in 515 W 26th Street New York NY and it’s definitly worth to visit.
Friedman Benda presented a premiere new limited edition work by contemporary designers Paul Cocksedge, Marcel Wanders and the Campana Brothers. The booth also presented works by French artist Thomas Fougeirol and American designer Misha Kahn.

This will be the first showing of Dutch designer Marcel Wanders’ personal editions since his record attendance-breaking solo exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in 2014, and his first public viewing with Friedman Benda since the preview of his Crochet Chair in “Smart Deco” at Design Miami in 2006. New works reveal Wanders’ reinterpretation of the ‘portrait’ with mirrors rendered as animated figurative abstractions.
The Bolotas Collection (2015) by Fernando and Humberto Campana was initially inspired by stone walls, but its name came from the initial prototype for the sofa which was round like an acorn (‘bolotas’ in Portuguese). For the sofa to both look and feel comfortable yet still designed, natural elements were carefully arranged.
