François Champsaur is a French interior designer. Born in Marseille, his work is influenced by his Mediterranean roots. He is nowadays one of the top interior designers in the world.
From his earliest projects, François has displayed his ability to transform any space, considering each and every aspect from an architectural angle to the last detail. He intelligently reworks space, playing with light and volume, and completes the set with both elegant and contemporary furniture and fabrics.
He has transformed luxury hotels (such as The Royal Evian and the Vernet Hôtel in Paris) and private homes using his own unique vision. He always develops a new project in line with the spirit of the space and creates furniture and luminaires consistent with the global design. His interest in furniture, clean lines, rhythm and harmony have led him to collaborate with many French and international interior design companies, such as Pouenat Ferronnier and HC28.
Each project is very simple but poetic. It all makes sense in François inspiring works even when they are bolder and with enthusiastic colours.
The designer states: “The function is still there, but people can tell what they want, it is the aesthetics that takes precedence. It is the intensity of form, the energy of materials, the soul of the object and the hand of man that interest me. I like to respect the place, to inscribe in its history, but also to violate it, to confer it of the modernity … Some architectures valorize the walls; Some pieces are very drawn. The notion of vacuum exists to mark space. The artistic dimension is also important. I collaborate in this way with artists and the way I conceive certain places is sometimes artistic intervention.”
This is why François Champsaur was selected for the Top interior designers by Coveted Magazine in cooperation with Boca do Lobo.
