Contemporary art by Jan Huling is calling the attentions for how colorful they are. She puts on a lots of colors into every sculpture she does turning them unique.
In every work surface design is the key component. Czech seed beads adorn objects in colorful patterns, camouflaging their original circumstance, allowing us to see them as pure form without their usual connotations. The process is slow and meticulous, zen-like, with the choice of forms motivating color schemes and iconography.
Jan’s three-dimensional collages combine found objects with surface design, sometimes touching on narrative themes.
The spectrum of Jan’s beadwork is diverse, from the very first beaded kazoo, to whole table tops. She’ll transform just about any object into a dreamy piece of ornamental luxury.
