Ibride was one of the brands exhibiting at Maison et Objet this 2016 edition in September. The brand was at Now! Design à Vivre.
IBRIDE is a French design publishing house which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2016. Under the IBRIDE brand name, a series of unique collections has blossomed, where each and every object embraces its own mythology. The later is in fact a contemporary mythology, populated with images, encounters, travels, animals and permeated with numerous references to the history of art itself. The heart of their work is to instill a special emotional bond into the objects which surround us.
Ibride, the prolix author, perpetuates its longevity thanks to its perfect balance.
The singular-committed designer couple is made up of Benoît Convers, who invents and precisely draws the contours of each piece, and Rachel Convers, artist and illustrator, who takes pleasure in animating them with her abundantly graphic universe. As a visionary editor, Carine Jannin, Rachel’s sibling, brings both creators’ inexhaustible works to life by materializing, on a daily basis, the life story of this exceptional family.
20 years is the age of ibride’s existence. 20 years is the age of endless possibilities, as exemplified by the initiatory journey of this company filled with emotional and curious surprises …
To celebrate its longevity, the brand presented few new collections, for example “Chemin de table”
A bucolic stroll in a park with frozen faces, the new “Parnasse” collection captures the fragility of a finely crafted stone. Robust statues with accentuated curves, immortal presences slowly colonized by vegetation, these courtesans and their stone bodies reveal their oldfashioned beauty. Here, an arm is missing, there, nature has reclaimed its rights and is making birds new homes, everywhere, the colors seem to awaken the marble.
