Collin Lynch is the artist behind these mugs, plates, and bowls that look crystallized in a shiny way forming such incredible ceramic art.
Riding the fine line between practical object and sculpture, Lynch adorns his creations in 3D rather than the standard 2D illustration or patterning; the conventional dishware silhouettes are elevated with glazed geometric forms protruding from them. When held in your hands—especially the mugs—it appears as if you’re holding a collection of colorful iridescent crystals instead of something that’s meant for the kitchen.
Available in several of colors, these stunning pieces include either gold or platinum handles with a neutral cup glazed in grey or white. This palette sets the stage for the vibrant layered crystals that seemingly burst from the side of the vessel and extend from its base to the lip. The result makes your morning coffee a much more mystical experience—and aside from the caffeine, Lynch’s brilliant colors are sure to perk you up.
The crystal mugs, plates, and bowls are sold through Essarai Ceramics and although there are a variety of colors to choose from, you can always place a custom order with some special color you wish.
Collin says: “If there’s a message that I could share with anyone, it’s to go out into this world and experience as many new things as you can, whether it’s learning to garden, cook, paint or code. The thing that you say you can not do or are afraid to do- do exactly that; you will learn a lesson in Fear. That is how I got into knitting, oil painting and ceramics- they were all things that I said were too difficult or complicated and that I would fail at.”
